Three Brothers From Bedouin Town in Southern Israel Shot Dead

Three brothers in their 20s were shot to death overnight Thursday near Segev Shalom, a Bedouin town in the Negev desert, in an arms deal gone wrong.

A Magen David Adom team was called to the scene and pronounced two of them dead. The third brother was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva in serious condition, where he was pronounced dead.

Thursday's shooting brings the number of murders in the Arab community since the beginning of the year to 183.

The three victims were identified as Saker, Musab and Sliman Kadi Tarabin. A police source said all three were involved with an illegal weapons deal that went wrong, during which all they were shot.

On Wednesday, Wafaa Abu Ghanem, 26, was shot to death in a vehicle near her home on Masada Street in Ramla. Her 4-year-old son and her younger sister, 14, were with her and were moderately wounded.

The police have arrested Ghanem's husband, his mother, and another relative on suspicion of involvement in the murder.
